Historic Downtown Melbourne will be hosting the 32nd Annual Melbourne Art Show and Flamingo 5k. The weekend’s activities will begin with the Flamingo 5k at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, and the art show will open at 9:00 a.m. with live music beginning at 1:00 p.m. Visitors can peruse the works of nearly 250 local artists and others, bring their children to one of many workshops, and enjoy live music from local musicians over the course of the weekend. The festival promotes art education by bringing art and the community together for a colorful weekend.

Starting Thursday, March 11, Ron Jon Surf Shop will be holding the 4th annual Beach ‘N’ Boards Festival at Shepard Park in Cocoa Beach. The event will continue through Sunday, featuring competitions for multiple board sports including surfing, skateboarding, paddle boarding, volley ball, and more. In addition to sporting events throughout the weekend, there will also be live music, demonstrations, signings, a film showing, and more. The weekend weather is set to be mostly sunny and breezy, with a slight chance of storms later as the weekend progresses; the surf forecasts indicate choppy waters early on, but improving as the weekend continues. The event is sponsored by local and national brands including Vans, Reef, Florida Today, and many more; Volcom will be organizing daily beach cleanups as well as a sea oat planting on Sunday to promote sustainability and raise awareness about caring for local ecosystems.

This weekend will feature one of the Space Coast and central Florida’s many sporting events: The 27th Annual IntraCoastal Waterway Century Ride. The route will take cyclists from Cocoa Village to the Kennedy Space Center and down along the historic River Road. This year’s event is sponsored by the Spacecoast Freewheelers, a local cycling club active in promoting community events that benefit local charities. The ride will begin at 8 a.m. this Saturday, October 25, at the Cocoa Civic Center. The weather forecast indicates a beautiful morning with partly cloudy skies, a light breeze, and a low rain chance.
