This weekend will feature one of the Space Coast and central Florida’s many sporting events: The 27th Annual IntraCoastal Waterway Century Ride. The route will take cyclists from Cocoa Village to the Kennedy Space Center and down along the historic River Road. This year’s event is sponsored by the Spacecoast Freewheelers, a local cycling club active in promoting community events that benefit local charities. The ride will begin at 8 a.m. this Saturday, October 25, at the Cocoa Civic Center. The weather forecast indicates a beautiful morning with partly cloudy skies, a light breeze, and a low rain chance.
There are multiple race lengths from 14 to the full 102 miles, for riders who want more or less of a challenge. For more event details and registration instructions, visit the event page on Active.com. For a detailed calendar of central Florida’s cycling events, click here.
