Start off on the right foot with the Cocoa Beach Turkey Trot (or the Space Coast Turkey Trot in Melbourne) Thanksgiving morning. The race starts at 8:00am at the Bailiwick Mall in Downtown Cocoa Beach. Relax with live music and a variety of beautiful artwork at the Downtown Cocoa Beach is home to the annual Cocoa Beach Art Show & Music Fest. The art show opens on November 25th at 9:00am and offers a wide variety of artists, live music, and food vendors. The weather forecast indicates rain and storms through Friday, clearing up and cooling off by Saturday with highs in the low 70s.

The Annual Seafood & Music Festival returns to the Space Coast this weekend at their new location at Alan Shepard Park behind world famous Ron Jon’s Surf Shop. Visitors will have a wide variety of offerings to choose from: culinary delights, shark encounters, a pirate parade, an art show, and live music. The festival kicks off on Friday and will continue through the weekend; admission starts at $10 in advance for a one-day pass. The mid-week rain in our local forecast is set to clear up for a perfect warm, breezy weekend.

This Saturday, Port Canaveral will be treated to some of the best local chowder the Space Coast has to offer. This year’s Annual Chowder Cook-Off will feature traditional chowders and a “twist” category, live entertainment, and a silent auction. Guests are invited to sample offerings an hour early with a VIP Pass, or join with the rest of the crowd from 6:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. Contestants will be competing for several accolades including “People’s Choice” and “Best Twist”; this year’s local celebrity judges include MyNews13’s Allison Walker-Torres, Lite Rock 99.3’s Mike & Mindy, Port Canaveral Commissioner Wayne Justice, Florida Today’s Suzy Fleming-Leonard, and Wingnut of KISS 95.1. General admission is $30 at the door, or $20 in advance.

It’s Key Lime Pie time again here on the Space Coast with the return of the Annual Key Lime Pie Festival. Each year, the Florida Key Lime Pie Company brings its delicious pies and other key lime themed offerings to the community with live music, local vendors, and several competitions at the festival.
This year, the event will take place at Alan Shepard Park, located just behind world-famous Ron Jon’s Surf Shop, and the weather should be perfect with highs in the mid 70s and a steady breeze. While Key Lime Pie is the event’s focus, local food vendors and chefs will also be offering their treats. Admission to the event is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under 12. In addition to live music, there will also be a “Miss Florida Key Lime Pie” contest, a pie eating contest, and pony rides.
