SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket will take flight tonight as it carries an EchoStar satellite to its destination orbit. The launch is currently scheduled for just after 1:30am, March 14th from historic Launchpad 39A. SpaceX will not be attempting a landing following launch this time; this is the last planned flight of an expendable Falcon 9 rocket, as Space X plans to roll out the next generation with improved landing features later this year (read more on Space Flight Insider). The main obstacle for this launch is heavy cloud cover, which could result in delays until March 16.
