This Thursday, the United Launch Alliance (ULA) will kick off Cape Canaveral’s 2017 launch schedule. ULA’s Atlas V is scheduled to lift-off just after 7:45p.m., carrying Lockheed Martin’s SBIRS GEO 3 satellite to orbit. The new satellite will extend the US Military’s existing array of missile detection and tactical support satellites. Thursday’s forecast indicates perfect viewing weather with clear skies and a light breeze into the evening hours.
