November may shape up to be an exciting month for space enthusiasts: a secretive Falcon 9 launch is on the books, there are three meteor showers happening, and SpaceX plans to launch its 1st Falcon Heavy flight.
Earlier this year, SpaceX’s founder, Elon Musk, announced that they would target November for the 1st flight of the Falcon Heavy rocket. If successful, the Falcon Heavy will be the most powerful rocket in service, and has often been compared to the Saturn V rockets that took us to the moon. The exact date and time for the demo flight have yet to be determined. In addition to the launch, SpaceX will also attempt to land all three first stages, two on land, and one on the autonomous drone ship Of Course I Still Love You at sea.
