Relax with live music and a variety of beautiful artwork at the Downtown Cocoa Beach is home to the annual Cocoa Beach Art Show & Music Fest. The art show opens on November 25th at 9:00am and offers a wide variety of artists, live music, and food vendors. Artworks of Eau Gallie returns for the 21st Annual Fine Art Festival this weekend, November 18th & 19th. The festival opens Saturday at 10:00am along Highland Ave in the Eau Gallie Arts District. In addition to approximately 80 vendors and artists, there will also be live demonstrations, live music, a high school art exhibit, a hands on children’s area, a special ballet performance, and food vendors. Festival-goers will enjoy warm and mostly sunny weather this weekend, with cooler temperatures on Sunday.

Today is the 1st Day of Fall, and the Autumn Equinox. The Autumn Equinox marks the first official day of Fall based on the Sun’s relative position to Earth; on the Equinoxes the Sun crosses the equator and marks the beginning of changes in the length of daylight hours.
Today is also the opening night for two new shows at the historic Cocoa Village and Titusville Playhouses. The Cocoa Village Playhouse will open Beauty and the Beast, while the Titusville Playhouse will open The Addams Family.

This 4th of July, the fireworks will be starting on Sunday, July 2nd, here on the Space Coast. The Cove at Port Canaveral will be kicking off the Independence Day celebrations with a fireworks display from 4:00pm to 10:30pm on Sunday, July 2nd. On July 3rd, Cocoa Beach will follow up with a display from 8:30pm to 10:00pm at Fischer Park; the beach at Fischer Park will be closed July 3rd.
On July 4th, join the Brevard Symphony Orchestra and the City of Cocoa at Riverfront Park for a live concert and fireworks display. The event will start at 7:00pm with activities and food concessions, the concert will begin at 8:00pm, and the fireworks will begin at 9:00pm.
Please be sure to check your city’s fireworks laws if you plan to shoot any of your own fireworks. Cocoa Beach does not permit fireworks on the beach. June is here and is off to a busy start with numerous events slated for June 2nd through the 4th. Get started with some great Barbecue at Cocoa Village’s BBQ & Blues, which opens at 4:30pm on Friday, June 2nd and continues on Saturday. If enjoying the sun, sand, and waves is more your speed, the International Palms Resort will be hosting this year’s Waterman’s Challenge, sponsored by the Florida Surf Museum. Watch the competition’s surfing heats June 2nd through June 4th.

Ron Jon’s annual Beach ‘N Boards Fest returns this week with festivities starting this Thursday. The Ron Jon’s/Vans Surf competition starts the event off bright and early Thursday morning until 4:00pm. The festivities continue through the weekend with the ongoing surf competition, demos, henna, signings, and more. Sunday, March 12th, is the final day of the event, with most activities wrapping up mid-afternoon. The surf report for the weekend indicates big swells with 1-2ft waves. Visitors may see afternoon showers as the weekend progresses, but warm and breezy temperatures overall.

This weekend, Cocoa Village will be hosting one of their four annual art and craft fairs in Historic Downtown Cocoa Village. Visitors can browse from a selection of over 150 local vendors, exhibitors, and artisans. Guests may also sample from a variety of food, taste beer at several beer gardens, and street entertainers. The event will run from Saturday, March 4, through Sunday, March 5, and will open at 10 a.m. each day. This Saturday, Port Canaveral will be treated to some of the best local chowder the Space Coast has to offer. This year’s Annual Chowder Cook-Off will feature traditional chowders and a “twist” category, live entertainment, and a silent auction. Guests are invited to sample offerings an hour early with a VIP Pass, or join with the rest of the crowd from 6:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. Contestants will be competing for several accolades including “People’s Choice” and “Best Twist”; this year’s local celebrity judges include MyNews13’s Allison Walker-Torres, Lite Rock 99.3’s Mike & Mindy, Port Canaveral Commissioner Wayne Justice, Florida Today’s Suzy Fleming-Leonard, and Wingnut of KISS 95.1. General admission is $30 at the door, or $20 in advance.
