If the weather permits, Brevard County residents will start their Friday with an Atlas V launch from Cape Canaveral. The launch is scheduled for just after 8:30a.m., but the forecast for the twenty-minute launch window is indicating a low chance of favorable conditions. If successful, the launch will be the ULA’s first of the year.
Tomorrow’s mission will carry the GPS IIF-12 satellite into orbit to expand and support the U.S.’s current satellite constellations. At the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, ULA engineer Liz Worsham will be holding a mission brief at the Journey to Mars complex.
