A Christmas Story: The Musical debuts at the Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse on November 16th. The show, based on the motion picture, will run from November 16th through December 2nd. The show is “set in the 1940s in the fictional town of Hohman, Indiana, the musical follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker and his quest for the Holy Grail of Christmas gifts—an Official Red Ryder carbine-action 200-shot Range Model air rifle.”
The Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse originally opened its doors to the public in 1924. In its early days, the playhouse served as a movie theater, showing silent films and “talkies” later. Eventually, the Playhouse was entered into the register of historic places and became a not-for-profit. Thanks to the generosity of the community and dedication of many volunteers, the Playhouse has grown and is now one of Brevard’s top performing arts centers.
